The heat is on...

It has been SO hot the past couple of days, we needed to do something refreshing. While Madison took a nap at home (Matt was working from home!) the older girls and I set off to the pool.

I always knew Mia could fly...she's supergirl! Great swimming Mia!

They sure had fun this afternoon, so much in fact that when Madison woke up from her nap, we went back to the pool after dinner.

I'm not sure if Mia pushed her in...or if she was trying to 'fix' her bathing suit. Hmmmm...

We sure had a fun swim day...it was nice to cool off in the 110 degree heat!

Birthday blessings...

Happy birthday mom! AKA - Grannie! After church, we went to my mom's for a small birthday celebration. The girls enjoyed some yummy fruit and they picked out a cherry cake to bring.

Madison always does this at Grannie's house...she plays with all the little things in the window. Precious.

Singing happy birthday...

We had a good time celebrating Grannie today.

Mia's 47th blood transfusion

Mia had her 47th blood transfusion today...and a very special person was there with her the whole time, her big sis Alyssa. They sat together in the hospital bed for the whole 8 hours we were there. It was great because Mia had someone to talk to and play with. It helped to keep her busy. I think Alyssa has a future in nursing...she is so caring and compassionate.

So I am officially getting my hair done...thanks Alyssa for getting a good shot of the grey hairs I am now sporting! (If you click on the pic you can really see them!)

Here is Mia's jaguar going through 'surgery'...

If I hear sponge bob one more time I will probably scream. They wanted to watch season 1 & 2...oh my word.

Alyssa enjoyed doing some crafts like painting and coloring...while Mia was just happy to have some company. They sure giggled a lot.

A special treat!

It happened to be Miss Elizabeth's birthday (in the red) and Miss Tony's (left) birthday tomorrow...so Miss Christine (right) brought in cupcakes for everyone! Ohhhh, they were so good especially with homemade frosting. YUM! The girls really enjoyed eating those. When we were done with everything, Mia literally skipped down the hall way to the elevator. I am so thankful she feels better.

A girl's day

Ashley and Mia had a girls day today. Ashley thought it would be fun to let Mia play around with some make up and do her hair. Anyone who knows Mia, knows this was a treat! Above is the before picture.
There was a lot of hair brushing going on...

A little of this...

A lot of that...

Mia sure had fun applying everything to Ashley's face. She wasn't sure about it getting done to herself but she decided to let Ashley do it.

Ashley would say, 'close your eyes,' Mia would close one and then keep the other one open, it was funny.

Showing a little 'tude'...attitude.

When they were all done Mia said, 'Mom! Look...we look like teenagers!' It was a good boredom buster day.

Happy Father's Day

A relaxing day...just like how Matt likes it, especially on Father's day. Here he is hanging with the girls.
Mia said, 'What do you want on Father's day...3 things?'
-play tickle monster
-make popcorn...(which happens to be Mia's all time favorite food.)
-or play tickle monster?
'Which one daddy?'
It was a good laugh!

Matt served all of us girls, (on Father's day, I know!) some yummy burgers...thanks dad, you're the best! We followed up with some ice cream cones for dessert.
Matt & his dad Dennis...Happy Father's Day! (This pic was really taken on Mother's day, but it works!)
