Mia's 48th blood transfusion

Miss Mia this morning, looking pretty pale, waiting to get started at the hospital.

She was really cold & tired today...she loves the warm blankets.

A quick visit from dad who brought Madison just before 9 am.

Mia is a Hopekid! We both wore our Hopekids t-shirts today.

Look who stopped by: Miss Marsha! (My dear friend) She brought Mia a special surprise...Mia was not quite awake yet.

When she did finally perk up...she was so happy with her bear. THANK YOU Marsha!

Back to school!

First day of school...Ashley -7th grade: Jr. High- (sigh) Alyssa - 3rd grade- already? Mia - 1st grade - I could cry! Madison - hung out with mom, she will start pre-school in Jan. I can't believe school is here already - and can I just say, it's boiling hot out!! They might as well be in A/C at school.

Waiting for the bus...which was late!

I've never seen their school so crazy...and to top it off Fox 10 News was there too!

Mia's bus was SO late, her class had already gone inside. (If you were wondering, YES I drove to school after they got on the bus...hey, I have a blog you know.) Mia didn't know where to go so thank goodness I was there to help her and her little friend's off the bus. Unfortunatley, they would not allow parents to walk the kids to their classrooms, which I think is ridiculous. Don't they understand that some people like to get pictures, for the family blog?!

It was a sea of kids...after Alyssa's class went in Madison and I headed home. To my utter joy, Ashley was still out waiting for the Jr. High bus...I drove by and said, 'Smile!' Ha! ha!
They don't look embarassed, do they?!

Madison hung out at home all day. I came around the corner and saw her with ear muffs on, eating chocolate from an Easter Egg. How funny is that?! It sure was quiet with the 3 older girls at school. Madison had no one to play with. It sure was a busy day...!

I had to pick up Mia early from the 1st day of school for a finger poke...so I asked her:
'How was riding the bus this morning?'
'Good' she said.
'Was the bus driver old or kind of young?' - I asked.
Mia: 'Well, he had the same skin as you, so probably 55 or 60.'
What a major LOL!

Across the Pond - London - Part 3

Sunday July 19th-

Paul, Chris, & Steve (I took this picture for my Grannie & Grandpa!) - After the wedding we had to get up bright and early to catch the train from Sherborne to London...since I REALLY wanted to do the tourist thing & Sunday was the only day since the train stopped there anyways. The Plumber Manor where we stayed for the wedding was so far away, so my mom's brother Steve was kind enough to pick us up and take us to the train station. Thanks Steve! Next stop...London!

LONDON

We walked from the Waterloo train station to The Embankment...

The Houses of Parliment & Big Ben...

The London Eye...the line was so long so we couldn't go on it.

You could often hear me saying...'I have to get a facebook profile picture!' Ha! Ha!

After seeing the 'tourist' stuff here...we caught the open air bus tour of London...on the Red Bus.

Getting on the bus...

I love the old English buildings...

St. Paul's Cathedral...next time I go to London I want to go inside and take the tour.

The Tower of London is the oldest building used by the British government...looks like a 'castley thing' to me.

Yes, they have Starbucks in England, and of course I had to go. The people there much prefer Cafe Nero...but I will always stay true to my Starbucks. After a quick stop, it was back on the bus. All the pictures below are from the top of the Red Bus...

Trafalgar Square is a square in central London with its position in the heart of London, it is; and one of the most famous squares in the UK and the world. At its center is Nelson's Column which is guarded by four lion statues at its base. We didn't get off here but it was great to drive by it.

The Queen's driveway...if the middle gate is open it means she's coming out.

The buildings on the left are original from the 1600's...so cool.

The original Hard Rock Cafe...

We got off the bus at Buckingham Palace. The Queen wasn't there so there were no Guards like the picture below. Bummer...! I wanted a picture for facebook...lol!

After seeing Buckingham Palace...we walked through St. James Park - searching for a loo! We decided to find the nearest Tube entrance and catch the train back to Haddenham. It was kind of a long walk but walking through the park was great.

Of course I had to get a picture in the red phone booth...after this we hopped the train back to Haddenham, the closest train stop to Dinton where our B & B is. Lucky for us, they had taxi's waiting there, so we took one to the Seven Stars Pub which was closed - because it was Sunday. So we got back in the taxi and he took us to this Pub...The Bugle Horn. Just so we are clear, a 'Pub' is a place that has the best English food...it's not just for drinks.

I had 'Toad in the Hole' & my mom had Yorkshire Pudding and Roast beef...very English meals.

I think we will always remember this night, we all laughed so hard...and of course we won't forget about the taxi ride either! Michelle almost decided to stay in England this night...(ha! ha! - you had to be there!)

We caught another taxi back to Wallace Farm - our B & B. We all were so tired...

Monday July 20th - our last full day in England.

We spent the whole day with my Grandpa & Grannie...we walked to Thame again and my mom bought us all some lovely bread and cheese for lunch, they really enjoyed that. And who showed up at their door...our cousin Matthew!!! He drove 2 hours to come and see us one more time! - Duckie...

When I was little...my Grandpa always used to laugh like my mom's Aunt Nelly...so I would say, 'Grandpa, do an Aunt Nelly.' - And he would laugh the way she used too...so I asked him this time to do an Aunt Nelly, but he said he couldn't do those anymore, it's not there. Oh Grandpa, you are so sweet.

This is how I will always remember my grandparents. They absolutely love each other so much...I am beyond thankful, to be so blessed as to have seen them and spent time with them on this trip. When they waved from the window I cried all the way out of the parking lot until I couldn't see them anymore. I love you Grannie & Grandpa!

The Signs - My cousin Matthew was able to drive us to meet Paul & Judith for dinner.

The whole trip I thought the signs were so different, and funny. Now seriously, would you see this sign above in America?!

Our last night in England...we all had dinner at this Pub called Bottle & Glass. It was so good...it was nice to have one last meal with family.

English Fish & Chips...with (mushy) peas.

Tuesday - Heathrow Airport -Phoenix

My mom HAD to go to Plane Food - Gordon Ramsey's restaurant in Heathrow Airport.

Yum...it was SO good. We didn't see Gordon Ramsey, or Orlando Bloom riding his horse for that matter (ha! ha! joke) but there's always next time.
