Mia's 110th blood transfusion

I mustache you a question...have you ever donated blood?? It keeps people alive. Just like Mia. Here we are for her 110th.

She actually had the best day ever she said...a lot happened during this transfusion.

A little magazine called Healthy Cells...which you can find all around the hospital, came and did a photo shoot of Mia to bring awareness on the importance of donating blood. They said she would be on the cover...how exciting! Here they are taking a cute pic of Mia with her nurse Miss Christine!

Then we had an awesome visit from Miss Arizona!!! Oh my gosh...we absolutely love her so much! She is so sweet and kind...not to mention she took the time out of her busy day to come see us.

Mia, Miss Arizona and Miss Christine.

We just love these nurses in POTC at Cardon Children's...they truly are the BEST!

LOVE!!

Miss Arizona let Mia wear her sash and crown...

Actually...she crowned Mia. Mia won...this is the BEST pic ever!!!

Mia truly should be Miss Cardon Kid Arizona...haha. She would rock it! She had so much fun in the hospital with Miss AZ!! Thank you Jennifer so much for coming, we love you!

Then she had a surprise visit from her friend Alex!! Oh my goodness she was so excited! Friends are the best thing in the world.

They got ice cream, played checkers, took pics and hung out. Talk about a fun day! AND Alex gave Mia a sweet necklace that they both can wear...BFF's.

Being goofy...

Right when I was getting ready to take the photo, the stack of checkers fell over!!

This warms my heart...Scott, from Scott's Training Systems - STS (who I recommend if you live in Arizona and need a place to workout! Holla! Most positive place you will ever find!!) brought his daughter Alex...and they spent a lot of time with us. Thank you sooooo much for making such fun memories for Mia while she's in the hospital.

It's the little things...Mia will always remember that her friend Alex came to see her.

Blood Drive, Commercial, and TV

So many things have been going on lately...I donated blood in honor of Mia...while she watched. I started a facebook page called: Mia's Marrow because so many things have been going on with her lately. That way I can get the word out about how important it is to donate blood. For years, I've always wanted to start something called Mia's Marrow, so this is the perfect opportunity.

My sweet friend Ginger who always donates for my sweet girl. Thank you!

This just warms my heart...Mia's nurse Miss Christine hasn't been able to donate in years because of low iron. But she was determined and tried anyways...she passed and was able to donate!! YAY! So did her husband Bob - or 'Sponge Bob' as we call him. How many times in your life does your nurse donate blood in honor of you?? So special. (They share the same birthday :)

Being silly...a merry heart is good medicine!!

Mia's Commercial at Berge Mazda Volkswagen

So it was way too hot to film outside...plus the traffic was really noisy so we were able to go inside. Thank goodness!!

She stood in front of this awesome red bug...(she wants a red beetle when she's older! haha!)

Oh my goodness these guys from UBS were so patient with Mia...if we had a bloopers reel it would be hilarious!!! She did great saying her lines though. It was fun.

Pretending to be a singer rocking out.

Watching the video...to funny.

They let Mia ring the gong and dropped confetti for her...since she did amazing.

Here's the car that a lucky blood donor will win...simply by donating blood between the months of June-August 31st...SWEET!!! It's a 2014 VW Passat.

We are hoping that Mia telling her story will inspire people to donate blood. I'm sure it will, she inspires me to donate blood...but then I'm her mom. I would do anything for her to help keep her alive. What I love about donating blood, is that if it doesn't go to her, it will go to someone who needs it to stay alive. The gift of life.

Watch and listen Mia explain about herself and why she needs blood transfusions.
( CLICK HERE if the video above doesn't work or isn't loaded.)

Mia was interviewed by Pat McMahon on the Morning Scramble, to help launch the United Blood services summer campaign. This poor sweet girl had really low blood counts, and was in need of a transfusion the very next day...but she rocked it anyways. She had the help of Sue Thew the PR from UBS, and Steve the GM of Berge Volkswagen to help her!

Getting ready...

During the interview...I love this pic because there's a pic of her on the TV holding a thank you sign...

Then she taped a PSA to run throughout the summer...she loved reading off the teleprompter. She might have a future career for sure!

She really wanted to watch the play back. Too cute.

Good job Mia, you look like a pro.

Oh yeah...she can hang with the news peeps.

We celebrated with Starbucks because Mia rocked it!!!

Mother's Day

All I wanted for Mother's Day was a sweet photo of me and my girls...
this was the best one that we could get but I love it!! It turned out really cute...silly and goofy just like us McP ladies. I am so blessed to be a mom to 4 beautiful girls. I never would have thought that when I was younger...if you would have told me I'd have 4 daughters I wouldn't have believed you.

Look at that sweet face...just precious. She is a breath of fresh air. It will be so fun to see what she's like when she's older. One thing I know for sure, is that we are in trouble!!

Mia's 109th blood transfusion

Every time you donate blood...you are giving the gift of life to someone. Do you ever wonder who that blood goes too? Would it help to see a face of someone that needs blood to live?

Here you go. Mia truly would not be here if it weren't for blood donors like you. I can't say it enough, ever...THANK YOU ~ for donating blood. It might seem really simple to you, but for our family we couldn't imagine life without Mia. Thank you for sustaining her life.

Her blood type is A+  which means she can receive A+ A- O+ O-

My sweet friend Kelly Mohan came with us to the hospital and took some photos of Mia that I could use for her new facebook page: Mia's Marrow

Striking a pose...

Kelly you are awesome!

Water break...looking at the photos on Kelly's amazing camera!

Rocking her country boots down the hospital hallway.

Lasso !! haha so cute.

I cannot believe she's had over 100 blood transfusions in her life, thus far.

Chilling...

Oh how I wish Taylor Swift would see this...Johnjay and Rich (Kyle) gave her this bracelet from her 100th party. So sweet.

Radio Flyer Wagon...

Aww we love the dog therapy dogs that come around to see us!

We love our nurses!!! Sometimes they need a hug too!

Guess who surprised Mia at the hospital?!?!? Miss Arizona USA Jordan Wessel!! We love this sweet girl!

She brought Mia a special treat...and of course we had to take a pic!!

Nurses too! They work so hard for us and take such good care of my sweet girl!

Truly Mia and our family says THANK YOU to everyone who donates blood. We heart you.
