Mia's 42nd Blood Transfusion

I couldn't help Mia with her I.V. start today because of my finger...so she was extra brave and did it 'by herself.' Sometimes it hurts, but that's ok as long as we hold still. Miss Christine did a fabulous job as usual...we love her!

Fancy Nancy

Since my finger was still hurting so badly, Miss Nancy aka Fancy Nancy did my hair for me! Um, do you have any make-up too? How about a massage and a pedicure while you're at it?!

Mia the fashion designer... even in the hospital.

Doing crafts...

The movies of the day included High School Musical 3, Horton Hears a Who, & Superman 2 - Mia said, 'Mom! Dad's on t.v.!' She has always thought that way of her dad.

A special friend...

Little Maddy who also has Diamond Blackfan Anemia like Mia, was there getting a transfusion too! How funny that we were there at the same time. All Mia wanted to do was to go over and play with her...don't forget your I.V. pull!!!

Matching I.V.'s - how cute!

I really like it when Mia gets her actual blood type - A+.

This was something new today...they started Mia on desferral...to help get the extra iron out of the body. It took 4 hours after the 3 hour blood transfusion which made for a long day. But Mia did great! All in all, it was a good day, and if you were wondering where Madison was, she was at my mom's house...thank goodness!

It's official...

After a painful day...I had Matt take me to urgent care to see about my finger. The x-ray showed that on the very tip of my middle finger a little piece of bone chipped off. No wonder it hurt so bad! I did this at 6:30 am after bootcamp, I went to put my weight away and 'somehow' jammed my finger in between my weight and the weights in the box. OUCH! - And wouldn't you know it, I grabbed the wrong camera, the one with no flash...but the pic's turned out. The doctor said after about 4 days I should be feeling better. I can't wait!!!

If I don't post...

...it's because my finger REALLY hurts! As I was putting my 15 lb. weight away at bootcamp this morning, I smashed it against another weight...owe! At least I didn't cry - until I got home!

The throbbing pain...! What a bother for any type of computer stuff. Of course it's on my right hand which I use for everything. Oh well, thankfully my mom came to the rescue and helped me with a few things I needed to get done. Thanks mom! (I'm typing this all with one finger!!)

The Ceremony...

Mr. & Mrs. McPoland...

This was too funny...no guys reached out to grab it!

This has to be the best shot ever...in the end, Sara got it!

And they are living happily ever after...

This past week...

President's Day...no school!!! Let's go to Grannie's house!

Making cookies...yum!

Making a birthday card...
Watching High School Musical 2 -

Eating lunch...
Going for a golf cart ride...we got to the mailbox and the battery ran out...so we had to push it up the driveway, it was so funny!

Spirit Week - Wednesday 18th...
Career day - Mia picked out her clothes because she wanted to be a fashion model...so cute! Ashley didn't really know, so she said she wanted to be a P.E. teacher. Alyssa already is a soccer star!

Thursday 19th - Mia's Dr. Appt.

Kids say the darndest things...as the nurse was checking Mia's height she said, 'Oh Mia, I like your headband, is it green for St. Patricks day?' - Clearly, Mia thought she said something else. Mia said, 'No, I don't like Satan...I love Jesus.' We started laughing so hard...even the nurse! The nurse said, 'yea, I love Jesus a lot too!' - Oh to have that on video would have been great. Truly you had to be there. Then we went out to lunch to the Rainforest Cafe - Yum!

Friday 20th - Spilling milk

This happened for the 3rd time in a row...what can I say, the half gallon milks are on sale for $.88 and Madison thinks she can lift them. It amazes me she can get the cap off...!

Saturday 21st...Last Winter Soccer Game -
Matt loved coaching these girls...it was a great winter season.

They ended with a 0-0 game...way to hold'em off girls! Here they are celebrating with tons of cupcakes and donuts early in the morning...fun!

A trip to the Rainforest...

After Mia's doctor appointment today, Matt took us for a treat...a visit to the Rainforest Cafe!
(Thanks Christina for the coupon!) It was so funny to watch Mia & Madison's faces at all the sounds and lights. They had a great time checking out the fish tanks and animals...

Looking at the fish...

I know...this is SO staged, but how cute is that?!

The Aligator - or is it a Croc?!

Mia had to get a pic by the Elephant for her sister Alyssa...
