Mia's 84th Blood Transfusion

Mia had another transfusion in the month of June. Her counts were doing good before she went to camp so we only ended up giving her one unit of blood instead of two. So that's why she had another one so quickly. Matt took her in the morning while I got the other girls ready for a long day at the hospital. When we got there at about 9 am, she was already sleeping...with Jesus.

Mia wanted to wait for her sister Alyssa to get to the hospital until she picked out a special toy for getting a poke. Alyssa held her hand, well her arm...

It was kind of like being at a hotel....since Mia was sleeping when we go there, we used the adjoining room through the bathroom to hang out. Thank goodness too since Madi and I fell asleep!  Mia continues to be brave ALWAYS with a smile on her face. 

Our Stay-cation

To start off our summer, with two girls being out of town, we did a stay-cation for our

two girls who are still in town. We spent two fun nights at the Wild Horse Pass Resort.

You don't need to ask if the girls had fun...you can see it on theri faces!

To make it even MORE fun, the Hegarty's just happened to be there...

Madison hung out with Ana, and Alyssa hung out with Grace. It was perfect!

They each had wrist bands and could order as much food as they wanted...

lots of smoothies and ice cream.

Then it was time for S'mores by the firepit.

The next morning Madison was up early ready to swim...again. All day.

More games for Alyssa and Grace.

Matt & I relaxed.

The second night stay we caught the boat that takes you to Rawhide, a Western town.

My mom came with us and we had a nice steak dinner together.

Madison got a Sheriff badge.

Then it was time to get some lasso's.

We had a great stay-cation...we hope the girls remember it!

Mia's 83rd blood transfusion

Mia was a very big girl today. Matt dropped her off in the morning at the hospital  while I ran around town getting things done for the other 3 girls. She stayed by herself for jsut a little bit...I really think she's about 30 years old, she's just in a 9 year old body. She's completely organized and self sufficient when it comes right down to it.

 

I absolutely cannot believe how big she is getting.  She will be celebrating double digits this year. When did she grow so much in her short little life??

 

Mia picked out a pillow pet and named her Rosetta. Rosetta will be going to the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp with Mia tomorrow for another exciting week of camp. Mia really wants to ride the horses most of all.

Mia's iron is getting high again so we really need to keep in top of her exjade. She hates taking it, but what's a minute of choking it down compared to the alternative? You can do it Mia!!
