Mia's #124 Blood Transfusion

Mia is so blessed to have this super cozy blanket...from Diana Taurasi & Penny Taylor from the Phoenix Mercury.

We brought the 2014 autographed ball that Penny Taylor got the whole team to sign...Matt said, 'Don't touch the ball and smudge the signatures!!!!!' - Um, whose ball???

I hopped in bed with the patient!

Love us Mia - you will feel better soon!

Be The Match is amazing ... and we love our dear friend Aubrie who runs the southwest division of Be The Match...

Soooooo...we made her a sign to use to share Mia's story of how if we found a match she could be potentially cured!

#tbt - hospital friend Cienne 2 years ago had to be treated so naturally I had to re-create the photo!!

Cienne and her sister are a true live ballerina.

Yo Mama loves you Mia! Way to rock #124 ❤️

ASU - Be The Match

We had such a FUN time at ASU on campus for Be The Match!! College students are so much fun and I think Mia can hold her own there.

Did you know that YOU could literally be the cure to someone like Mia?? you read more about how to do that by clicking HERE!!

It's amazing how many people truly who are sick and need a cure...and it simply could be the person reading this.

Mia has 3 siblings...and none of them are a bone marrow 'MATCH' to Mia. The survival rates are better with a sibling match however that's not possible for Mia. If (when) Mia needs a bone marrow transplant to try and cure her DBA we would find a potential donor (Life Saver) through the Be The Match registry.

Mia likes to help at fun events like ASU to help donor recruitment.

The atmosphere at ASU is so fun!! And there's coffee shop's everywhere too, bonus!

Aubrey braided Mia's hair...looks good Mia!

Yay for signing people up to Save Lives!!! Go Mia!

Mia helping to show bone marrow donors how to 'swab.'

Mia could definitely get a job with Be The Match!! haha

My instagram photo...you could be Mia's cure!

If you are reading this...just go to Mia's Be The Match page...and simply get a kit sent to your house...take the Be The Match Challenge and you could potentially save a life! It's that easy. #BTMchallenge

Highland High School Blood Drive

Mia was super blessed to be able to attend the Highland High School blood drive and say thank you to all the workers, blood donors, and students for helping the State of Arizona to simply...help others live.

Highland High School - all the kids that came out and donated...are truly HEROES.

Thanking all the students...

Walking around and thanking the blood donors...

Haha we love Tyler!! He's SO great...

He let Mia borrow some Hawaiian gear...great for photos!

We were so blessed that some of the Phoenix Mercury Hip Hop Squad showed up to support Mia, hand out tickets to a Phoenix Mercury game to those that donated, and danced with Mia!

Ohhh Sassy!!! Thank you to our friend Landen from Darkroom Photography for capturing some great images of Mia!!

Especially this one of Mia with the trophy from last years Championship!

She donated for the first time!!! Ugh, love her!!

All the kids are so supportive!!!

We love Hawaiian themed blood drives!!!

The students also added a Be The Match drive as well...too awesome!!

We love you Ubbie!

Mia and Daniel Egbo...love the Egbo Brothers for dancing in front of the whole school for Mia!!! Seriously Ellen give them a scholarship!

This teacher, Mr. Allen also needs to win some type of award for being awesome! Along with the other teacher Jill for teaching a community service class...all these students will remember the importance of donating blood for the rest of their lives...because of this class!

Definitely one of my favorite photos of the day...high fives for saving lives!

Mia wants to say a HUGE thank you to Highland High School for being the best ever! It's been a few years now that they've asked Mia to come speak at their class, and now assembly. AMAZING! We are blessed to know all of you at Hihghland #HHS!!!

Be The Match Speech

Mia was invited by the Spanish teacher at Mountain Pointe High School over in Ahwatukee to come and share her story about how is he found a 'Match' through Be The Match she could be potentially cured of her Diamond Blackfan Anemia.

Miss Donna giving a quick Spanish lesson before her students arrive.

Mia telling a little bit about herself to the class before heading to the double assembly.

HAD to get a pic with the class...haha!

Oh look there's the manager...I mean 'Momager' and supporter Madi with Mrs. Sampones.

Hello?!?!?! LOOK who we saw...Miss Arizona's Outstanding Teen...Amber, we love her! Plus she's a really good dancer!! She inspired Madi to start up dance again,

And then we saw Miss Arizona 2014 sister...Courtney! She's so pretty and we love her too!

Sharing her story...she's inspiring people to save lives.

Love it!

Go Mia!! If you are curious about Be The Match you can visit Mia's Be The Match page to find out more about it!

Transfusion #123

Mia's rocking the British flag at her 123rd transfusion...oh wow she was REALLY tired and super pale but she made it over the long Easter weekend.

We did make a pit stop to Dutch Brother's on the way since we were a little early.

Picking out something from the toy closet is always fun...she picked out a book and some nail polish. Alright!

What a brave sweet girl...this photo reminds me of Good Friday - how Jesus donated His blood for us, and how Mia truly lives this out and is the perfect example of needing blood to survive. We are so thankful to be able to spend holiday's with our family and Mia because people take the time to donate blood. We could never say thank you enough!! And we are so thankful that Jesus donated His blood to us...

Oh how I love this girl...

Shes's definitely growing up way too fast! She must be getting ready for Junior High / Sigh

Yep.

The book she picked was Anne Frank (It was in the movie Fault in Our Stars) so that's cool, and she of course wanted to work on her homework.

I should say, she WANTS to work on her homework...so responsible. Her teacher would be so proud.

You gotta love nurses who make you stronger...inside and out. We love you Miss Christine.

It's Molly + Mia Monday's...we love our Molly dog visits. She's such a sweet therapy dog and so is her owner.

Molly + Mia

She brings lots of laughs!!

Selfie with Molly! Haha

Look at those teeth...

Ohhhhhhh my goodness...precious. Mia got to hold a sweet baby boy named Dylan. TOO CUTE. He's one of the nurses little baby.

This is the look...oh mom.

So one thing you might not know is that we love the Ellen Show...she sure makes us crack up! We've tried tweeting them & writing letters but no luck yet...that's fine, we won't give up!!
