Mind Over Splatter

Today we attended a hopekids event at Mind over Splatter...a pottery painting place. They provided fun ornaments for the hopekids and their sibblings to paint and decorate any way they'd like. Mia has been apart of the hopekids organization for about a year now. It is basically like a Christian make-a-wish. They provide kids with fun stuff to do with their families...and other hopekids.

Ashley & Alyssa picked out a reindeer, Madison picked a Christmas tree, and Mia picked an angel - who she is making it for her friend Saulo who has cancer, and currently is in ICU. How fitting she chose an angel.

We get to pick them up on Thursday after they are all fired up. Thanks hopekids for allowing us to have a great time at Mind Over Splatter!

We have heavy hearts as we heard today (Sunday Dec. 7th) - That Saulo passed away Tuesday Dec. 2nd...from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. There are no words to express our sorrow, and our hearts go out to his family.

When I told Mia the news, her little eyes teared up, and she said, 'mom, that makes me very sad.' - with a hug. She thought that perhaps Saulo would come to her party on Tuesday at the hospital, and she would give him the angel she made. Mia still wants to give the angel to his family...that was her idea.
