Hero of the month...

What a privelage that Mia was nominated for 'Hero of the Month' at her hospital where she gets her blood transfusions. There is a program called: Kids Wish Network where someone that works at the hospital has to nominate one child to be hero of the month at their facility. They had to write something about the child in an essay...and little Miss Mia was chosen! She recieved a party, a gift card, and a t-shirt. She was so excited! Thank you Kids Wish Network!

Cake is so good...

I must say the cake was excellent! Everyone enjoyed a a very big piece of Mia's cake. Especially Madison!

Some very special friends...

We have known 'Miss Christine' since Mia was diagnosed with DBA when she was 2 months old. They have a special bond...and they share the same birthday! - Sep. 19th! - Miss Christine is the very best nurse ever...we truly love her and appreciate everything she does for our family. Mia is always so happy to see her, even though it means getting some pokes. As long as Miss Christine is there, we know everything will be just fine.
Mia giving Miss Christine a poke with her new doctor kit.
Miss Amy...the Child Life Specialist at the hospital...is so great to us every time we see her. She makes sure all the kids feel safe, and has crafts and toys to keep them occupied. Oh how I wish I had her job! Mia listening to the baby girls heartbeat... Yep, sounds good!
Miss Sarah is the one who organized this whole party for Mia. Wow! She did a great job...it's not often you get to be hero of the month! The Pediatric Outpatient Treatment Center looked so cute with all the decorations...Mia was SO excited. Thank you so much Sarah for doing such a great job for our little Mia!
I love my Mia...you are so brave.

POTC staff, family, & friends. Mia's Grannie picked up Ashley & Alyssa early from school so they could be a big part of Mia's special day. Dad came from work, and also some family friend's the Grimm's who are no in the picture. Thanks to everyone for helping us celebrate how brave Mia is! >a

I think it's so neat that Ms.Christine has been Mia's nurse since she was a baby. And to know they have the same birthday is really special too!!
