What an exciting night! Mia, Ethan, and Trevor (all HopeKids) were nominated for the 'Husky Superstar of the Week Award' from Hamilton High School. Needless to say, these kids go through so much...more than most people go through in a life time, and they are only 7 & 8 years old. What an exciting time and an honor it was to be a part of this special night. When we first arrived, we met all the Varsity Coaches. Wow, there's a ton of coaches! They were very welcoming, and we so appreciated it.
Mia's not shy, she took one of the coaches cell phone and started playing with it. She cracks me up.
INTO THE WEIGHT ROOM
Mia, Ethan, & Trevor got to go into the weight room and meet the team before the warm-ups and first home game of the season against West View.
Here's the offensive team captain QB Kyren Poe, and defensive team captain ---- giving the kids a special bag filled with some AWESOME Hamilton goodies. If you were wondering...Matt put the poster up in his office that the team signed. Sorry Mia.
The first home game team captains...
These girls decided to wait outside of the locker room...I think they were a smidge shy.
High fiving the football team. We were impressed with the character and kindness of every one of the young men on this team. They probably don't realize how awesome it was for our kids to just be there, and be a part of this night. (AND Matt!)
Mia and Kendyl Taylor...his brother Kerry plays football at ASU.
McKinley and Kendyl Taylor...
Mia, Ethan (& his grill!) with Frankie Felix.
Brooke, Mia, Ethan, and Trevor with Joseph Pollard.
Kids with Hamilton's Principle: Fred DePrez
Laura, me, and Wendy - yeah, we're awesome moms who love to watch our kids enjoy a very special night.
Keith Poole, the strength and conditioning coach with Brooke, McKinley, & Mia...
Go Huskies!
Boys will be boys...this was SO great for Matt. Being in a house with 4 daughters and a wife...there's not a lot of 'guy time.' If you could only have been there to see the smile on Matt's face. I'm sure you can imagine! He still is smiling about the whole thing.
Playing in the helmet.
Mia had fun chatting with Mike Poole...
Mia got to see the cheerleaders...but how funny, she was SO shy. I could NOT believe it. She was totally fine going into the boys locker room and talking to the football players, and then got shy around the cheerleaders...however after a little prodding she did a cheer for the cheerleaders.
IT's HOT out!
We went back to the weight room for some AC before the game started.
The players coming in from warm-ups...Mia was high fiving all the players, and she says...'ewwww, they're all sweaty. Thanks to the players who are wearing gloves.' LOL!
GO HUSKIES!

The kids waiting to high five the players as the go thru the Husky helmet. I took a video of this, and somehow it got deleted. I am SO bummed...because it was awesome.

The officials would only allow 4 people on the field at one time. So the coach said, 'it's the 3 kids with 1 captain.' There are no words...what an awesome moment.

This brings tears to my eyes, because I watched as it brought tears to Wendy's eyes watching Trevor get to walk out on the field.

Matt was in heaven...if he could have, he would have put on a Hamilton shirt and would have been giving some plays from the sidelines.

What a night. We will always remember this night, and will talk about it for years to come. It's not everyday people get to be a part of something that truly lifts your spirits like this, for the whole family. It really meant a lot to us, especially to me that Mia, Ethan, & Trevor got to be a part of it together. Thank you SO much to the Hamilton Husky Coaches, Staff, and Football team for letting us be a part of your team!

Wow, Kristi.. What an honor for your family.. For the coach to let the kids go out on the field for the coin toss is so remarkable. Those young, talented football players seemed so generous and cared so much about the kids.
Glad you had a fun time, and Matt seemed to be smiling in every picture.
What a COOL experience for everyone! Tears in my eyes, Kristi! Thanks for posting!!!
FUN, what a special night for you guys. That's funny that Mia was shy around the cheerleaders.
