Mia's MRI

Mia had her first MRI this morning. She was so anxious about doing this, I think because that it was something new and unfamiliar to her. We got to the hospital just after 7am, and got all checked in.

Mia's favorite nurse from POTC (Miss Christine!) was there to help us. You have no idea how happy we were to see her! (Thank you God!) She wanted to show Mia what she would be doing, laying down while the 'donut' takes pictures.

Mia DID NOT want to do this. Even getting her IV started was harder than normal. Even though we did this 2 days ago, she was so upset. But it was a good opportunity to pray (twice) together because we know that God is in control and He has a purpose and a plan for this, even if it's a little scary, we can trust in Him.

My friend Remy came to sit with me while I wated for 2+ hours for Mia to get done. (Oh yeah, and it's my birthday.) So here she is buying me a birthday coffee! - My favorite!

She even came with me to wait for Mia to wake up, which was so nice. Bless your heart Remy! It was nice not to be alone, and it made the time go by faster. I am so thankful for friends who stick by your side, no matter what.

'Friends love through all kinds of weather,
and families stick together in all kinds of trouble.'

~ Proverbs 17:17 The Message (Bible)

Speaking of friends...Remy's daughter Ava wrote Mia a card & gave her a little present for being so brave. Sigh...it was SO sweet. They both go to the same school and are in 2nd grade. Today is the last day of school which Mia is missing, but that's ok.

Overall, Mia did great! The first thing she said was, 'am I done?' To her it was as if she blinked and woke up...she couldn't believe it and doesn't remember a thing. Thank you to everyone who prayed for or thought of her - and thank you to Remy for coming to see us, you made our day. And another HUGE thank you to my mom who watched Madison for me!! Thanks mom :)

Happy Birthdy sweet friend! Both you and Mia are very special and strong people. I bet it was scarey to do the MRI, but thank the Lord she has a great mama to pray with her and give her confidence + Ms.Christine was there to help & your friend.
I hope she is feeling better and you get a little time to yourself for your bday. xo
